ES Intervención a pequeña escala en la renovación de una vivienda particular en el Estado de México para un cliente real.
EN The existing bathroom was compact and only lit by a small square window set into a non-structural infill wall. Widening the opening to span the full width of the wall brought considerably more daylight into a small room, at no real structural cost.
Thickening the same wall along its lower section, in turn, created a continuous built-in shelf spaning that same width, providing a single clean surface, and matching all these paralel lines provided a cleaner, more coherent design.
ES El baño existente era compacto y recibía iluminación únicamente a través de una pequeña ventana cuadrada ubicada en un muro de relleno no estructural. Ampliar la abertura hasta abarcar todo el ancho del muro permitió incorporar considerablemente más luz natural a un espacio pequeño, sin representar un costo estructural significativo.
A su vez, engrosar la parte inferior del mismo muro permitió crear un estante continuo que recorre todo el ancho, proporcionando una única superficie visualmente limpia.

EN The old sliding plastic shower screen, which further divided an already small room, was removed in favor of a shower curtain that folds flat against the wall.
Wall tiles were changed to a discreet marble finish for added luminosity, with a different scale and shade of tile used around the shower to mark that zone visually without a physical divider.
A new sink cabinet and a minimalist towel bar completed the renovation.
ES La anterior mampara corrediza de plástico, que dividía aún más un espacio ya reducido, fue sustituida por una cortina de baño que puede plegarse completamente contra el muro.
Los azulejos de los muros se sustituyeron por un acabado discreto tipo mármol para aportar mayor luminosidad, usando piezas a distinta escala y tonalidad alrededor de la regadera para separar visualmente esa zona sin necesidad de una barrera física.
Un nuevo mueble para el lavabo y una barra minimalista para toallas completaron la renovación.
EN While modest in scale, being able to design for a real client and see our vision come to realization, marked an early milestone in my architecture studies and reassured me of my conviction to design spaces that people can enjoy living in.
ES Aunque de escala modesta, la posibilidad de diseñar para un cliente real y ver nuestra propuesta materializarse marcó un primer hito en mis estudios de arquitectura y reafirmó mi convicción por diseñar espacios que las personas puedan disfrutar habitar.
