EN In 2022, CRMBZ, a growing Abu Dhabi burger brand, had its brand identity designed by Manifiesto, a Mexico City based studio where I work as a designer.
When the brand took part in the 2023 edition of Al Hosn Festival, held within the historic Qasr Al Hosn quarter, the client tasked the studio with designing their stand for the event.
Knowing I was studying architecture alongside my design work, the creative director invited me to lead the design proposal.
ES En 2022, CRMBZ, una creciente marca de hamburguesas de Abu Dhabi, encargó el diseño de su identidad de marca a Manifiesto, un estudio con sede en Ciudad de México donde trabajo como diseñador.
Cuando la marca participó en la edición de 2023 del Festival Al Hosn, celebrado dentro del histórico distrito de Qasr Al Hosn, el cliente encargó al estudio el diseño del stand que usarían durante el evento.
Sabiendo que estudiaba arquitectura además de mi trabajo como diseñador, el director creativo me invitó a hacerme cargo de la propuesta.
EN The brief was straightforward but precise: a small, functioning kitchen and counter, quick to build, economical to construct, and able to run for the full ten days of the festival.
ES El brief era breve pero preciso: una pequeña cocina funcional y un mostrador, rápido de construir, económico en su construcción y capaz de operar durante los diez días completos del festival.
EN The intent was for the gesture to read as a welcome, staging the meeting between the brand and the public.
ES La intención era que este gesto se leyera como una bienvenida, siendo un escenario para el encuentro entre la marca y el público.
EN In plan, two panel walls curve inward from either side of the stand, narrowing toward the service counter and drawing arriving visitors toward a single point of contact.
ES En planta, dos muros se curvan hacia el interior desde ambos lados del stand, estrechándose hacia el mostrador, guiando a los visitantes hacia un único punto de contacto.
EN Above, the roof is held apart from the walls it shelters, opening a continuous gap for light and air to pass through: a direct response to Abu Dhabi's climate and to the practical demands of a kitchen of this kind.
ES En la parte superior, la cubierta se mantiene separada de los muros que protege, abriendo un espacio continuo para que la luz y el aire circulen libremente respondiendo al clima de Abu Dhabi y a las exigencias prácticas de una cocina de este tipo.

EN The project marked an early opportunity to bring my architectural training into my design practice as it became an exercise in turning practical constraints into architectural decisions, using a limited footprint, a simple construction system and a short lifespan to shape rather than restrict the experience of the space.
ES Este proyecto significó para mi una oportunidad de integrar mi formación arquitectónica con mi ejercicio de diseño, al convertirse en un ejercicio donde se transformaron las limitaciones prácticas en decisiones arquitectónicas, al usar una huella reducida, un sistema constructivo sencillo y una vida útil breve para conformar la experiencia del espacio.
